MMCRU School Counseling Belief Statements

We believe:

All students can learn and achieve.

All students have the right to be heard and treated with dignity.

All students can be successful in personal/social, emotional, and academic domains.

All students can achieve college and career readiness with individualized assistance in creating personal goals and future plans, along with access to traditional and nontraditional vocational opportunities.

School counselors are an advocate for ALL students.

A comprehensive school counseling program is tailored to meet students’ educational and developmental needs as identified through needs assessments that have been translated into attainable goals.

A comprehensive school counseling program, along with collaboration of students, staff, parents, and other key stakeholders, can better assist the needs of the MMCRU District.

School counselors abide by the professional ethics of school counseling as advocated by the American School Counselor Association.

MMCRU School Counseling Vision Statement:

The students at MMCRU Community School will graduate college and career-ready with skillsets for the 21st century. All students will engage in challenging academic, career, and social/emotional curriculum through a comprehensive school counseling program with collaboration between the school, families, and communities.

Our Mission

The mission of the MMCRU Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to serve all students, Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade, in the areas of academic, career, and social/emotional skills to ensure student success. We strive to prepare students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens in partnership with teachers, staff, parents, and other community key stakeholders.
